At Premier Drill Pipe, we manufacture and distribute the most complete line of horizontal drilling (HDD) tubulars in the world. Each and every day we set the standard for forged-end, inertia-welded rods. Today we have over 150,000 forged-end welds operating around the world and we have yet to have a single weld failure. In fact we are so confident in the integrity of the weld that we have always offered an unconditional lifetime guarantee on the weld irrespective of operating conditions. Maxi-rig operators have long used forged-end, inertia welded rods for their most demanding projects.
As evidence of Premier's product superiority, performance and reliability, we manufacture and distribute virtually all sizes of Vermeer®, Jet Trac® and Case® compatible rods, not to mention rods for most other rigs. In several of the more popular sizes of HDD rods, we are the only manufacturer to offer the option of either forged-end inertia welded rods or one piece forged rods.
We began operations in 1990 and have grown to our position of leadership in the industry through persistence in quality control, product consistency, and a well-founded reputation for customer service.
PROVEN PERFORMANCE / PROVEN QUALITY
Unlike most HDD rod manufacturers, including several major rig OEM's, we are not dependent on outside vendors or services for the production of our Premier pipe. We do it all in-house. This not only allows us to produce and deliver the most cost-effective drill rod in the industry, it allows total control over every phase of the quality process. We utilize achrome-moly steel alloy specifically formulated to maximize fatigue resistance and rod longevity. We buy only mill certified pipe, certified to the exacting specifications of the American Petroleum Institute. The entire manufacturing process... forging, inertia welding, quenching and tempering, machining and inspection are performed at one of our facilities.
Every step of our production process is monitored by rigorous quality control procedures, up to and including the stringent electromagnetic and dimensional testing required to meet the highest standard of API Q1. The Q1 specification is a standard not frequently applied in our industry; however, it is one that goes into every rod that we manufacture at Premier.
Our experienced staff, coupled with advanced technology is the basis for our quality assurance. Simply put, we stand behind every rod that we produce... because we can.
At Premier, we also understand that HDD projects can be unpredictable and the need for drill rod is, in many cases, immediate. That is why we maintain a broad network of qualified distributors and stockpoints across the nation... Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Youngstown and Salt Lake City. We also design and manufacture specialty strings for any number of unique projects.

API Licenses
Premier Drill Pipe is licensed by API to produce 5D and Spec 7 products and meets the API Specifications Q1 for Quality Programs identical to ISO 9000 requirements. This authorizes Premier to use the official API monogram for all our tubular and oilfield drill pipe products.
